In conjuction with Senator David Carlucci, Chair of Senate Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Committee and Senator Roxanne Persaud, Chair of Senate Social Services Committee, Senator Velmanette Montgomery hosted the “Examining the State of Our Youth” roundtable series to learn more about the issues facing children and families throughout the State of New York. These regional round tables have flushed out many issues that all youth and family support programs throughout the state face, helping to influenced several pieces of legislation.
Each roundtable spotlighted topics and featured local government agencies, community based organizations, stakeholders, community leaders, educational institutions, parents and youth, the purpose being to inform elected officials about the issues important to advocates, communities, and families in our State. These invaluable discussions have resulted in a number of legislative remedies, creating pieces of legislation that seek to address some of the main issues expressed by roundtable participants.
This Directory is a resource guide that spotlights the organizations that participated in each roundtable and the services and programs offered by each. The goal of this directory is to build a network of organizations to create opportunities to work in tandem and achieve common goals on behalf of the children, families, and residents in our great State of New York.
