Senator Velmanette Montgomery urges NYC Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene Commissioner Oxiris Barbot and NYC Dept. of Sanitation Commissioner Kathryn Garcia to investigate the Rodent Infestation on Jefferson Avenue between Bedford and Nostrand Avenue
March 9, 2020
There have been various reports of a rodent infestation on Jefferson Avenue between Bedford and Nostrand Avenues due to an overflow of garbage that is left on the street. Community members also believe that it is due to the city trash cans not being emptied regularly.
As residents raise concerns about rodents potentially entering their homes and even attacking their pets or spreading rabies, Senator Velmanette Montgomery joined by Assemblywoman Tremaine Wright and Assemblyman Walter Mosley call on Commissioner Barbot and Commissioner Garcia to investigate the issue and resolve it.
