August 2021: Announcing the Workforce Diversification Project

As New Yorkers attempt to return to normalcy, many of our neighbors are still recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bronxites were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and experienced higher deaths, hospitalizations, and unemployment rates than any other borough. As of July 2021, the Bronx’s unemployment rate was 13.9% — New York’s highest jobless rate.

The Workforce Diversification Project was created to help combat the unemployment rate in the Bronx. This resource is divided into two parts: Part 1 lists current job openings and Part 2 will list active scholarships, internships, classes, and training opportunities. Each month, my office will be sharing an updated document with constituents to ensure they receive current job openings and training opportunities.
