October 2021: Workforce Diversification Project

As New Yorkers attempt to return to normalcy, many of our neighbors are still recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bronxites were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and experienced higher deaths, hospitalizations, and unemployment rates than any other borough. As of July 2021, the Bronx’s unemployment rate was 13.9% — New York’s highest jobless rate.
The Workforce Diversification Project was created to help combat the unemployment rate in the Bronx. This resource is divided into two parts: Part 1 lists current job openings and Part 2 lists trainings, classes, internships, grants for not-for-profits, webinars, and after school programs. Each month, my office will be sharing an updated document with constituents to ensure they receive current job openings and training opportunities.
