Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last March, when Cuomo was first granted the emergency authorization, the governor’s nearly 100 Executive Orders have allowed him to unilaterally change hundreds of state laws, as well as implement rules and regulations and make spending decisions, without legislative approval.
On Friday, April 23, Senator O'Mara joined WCNY's "The Capitol Pressroom" to discuss the failure of the state Legislature's Democratic supermajorities to restore legislative checks and balances to New York government by repealing Governor Andrew Cuomo's emergency pandemic powers.
