Albany, N.Y., March 16--State Senator Tom O'Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats), a member of the Senate Energy and Telecommunications Committee, released the following statement on legislation (S7462A) held in the committee yesterday that would ban the sale of gas-powered lawn mowers in New York State:
"In the Senate Energy Committee yesterday, Senator Peter Harckham's legislation banning the sale of gas-powered lawn mowers didn't make the cut. Fortunately, it was pulled from the agenda for further negotiation, but it's clear that this ill-conceived bill belongs in the growing compost heap of bad bills from our colleagues across the aisle."
