SENATOR LANZA & THE NY CONFERENCE OF ITALIAN-AMERICAN STATE LEGISLATORS ACCEPTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: APPLY NOW
March 6, 2023
Senator Andrew Lanza and The New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators are now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded at the Annual Italian-American Day in Albany.
There will be two academic and two athletic scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each. These scholarships are available to current residents of New York State that are high school seniors entering college or current college students.
Students who apply for the Academic Scholarship must have a high grade point average and an interest in pursuing a higher education degree. Applicants for the Athletic Scholarship must also demonstrate athletic involvement, achievements and interest in continuing those activities in college. Students can apply for both opportunities.
The Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is a bipartisan organization of New York State Senate and Assembly members who are actively involved in promoting and celebrating the State’s Italian-American community. The mission of the Conference is to work hard to elevate and highlight Italian-American contributions to the State of New York and beyond, in all aspects of society, including literature, the arts, architecture and politics.
Applicants will be judged based upon grade point average, good conduct, an interest in pursuing a higher education degree, involvement in community service and extracurricular activities, as well as individual financial need.
Applicants need not be of Italian-American heritage to apply.
All scholarship applications must be submitted by the deadline: April 3, 2023.
