Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk) is urging Governor Kathy Hochul to sign the Grieving Families Act (S.74a/A.6770) into law before the legislation expires.
“The Grieving Families Act passed both houses of the State Legislature by wide margins and with overwhelming bi-partisan support. This legislation not only brings New York State’s wrongful death statute into the modern era and on par with the rest of the nation, more importantly, it provides families who have lost a child or loved one the ability to seek appropriate damages in cases where wrongful death is established. I urge Governor Hochul to do what is in the best interest of New York’s families and sign this important legislation into law.”
