New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo (R,C-New Suffolk), ranking Republican member on the Senate Codes and Judiciary Committees, today issued the following statement regarding the passage of the Senate’s one-house budget resolution.
“The Senate Democrats' outright rejection of the Governor’s mild reforms to cashless bail and the inclusion of Clean Slate legislation in their one-house budget shows they have no intention of strengthening public safety laws. Instead, Senate Democrats are determined to advance and expand disastrous pro-crime policies that have led to soaring crime rates and made New York State more dangerous for law-abiding citizens, crime victims and law enforcement.”
