"I applaud the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission and their thoughtful approach to re-envisioning graduation requirements in New York State. In a time of great turmoil and change, our children deserve our renewed attention to every facet of their educational experience. I’m particularly excited to see an increased emphasis on civics education, financial literacy, arts and music, STEM, and writing skills for graduation credits. I look forward to reviewing the report in detail, and working with the Board of the Regents as they consider the path forward."
