Senator Serrano Attends Earth Day Press Conference
May 7, 2024
On May 7th, Senator Serrano joined Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and colleagues in Albany for an Earth Day Press Conference. This press conference announced the Senate's Earth Day package that addresses climate change, pollution, and protections for wilderness and nature areas, all of which help make New York State a leader in environmental protection. In addition to many valuable environmental bills, this legislative package included Serrano bill, S.724-A, which prohibits the lease of certain state lands for the purpose of gas and oil productions. This will ensure the protection of state forests, reforestation areas, wildlife management areas, and other unique areas from the exploration, development, and production of gas and oil.
