Senator Serrano recently joined Governor Kathy Hochul, fellow local elected officials, Executive Artistic Director Mino Lora, and many others at the ceremonial groundbreaking for the People’s Theatre Project: Centro Cultural Inmigrante. As the Chair of the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation, Serrano spoke to the importance of art spaces such as this, as they provide a vital place for stories to be told and cultures to be shared.
This new performance space and cultural center, located in Upper Manhattan, will serve as a place for our community voices to be uplifted, not only through the arts, but through the sense of representation that will be fostered there.
