Senator Serrano Attends Rally for the NYHEAT Act
March 21, 2024
On January 23rd, I joined my colleagues in Albany from both the Senate and Assembly for a rally in support of the New York Home Energy Affordable Transition Act (NY HEAT). Prioritizing low and middle-income New Yorkers, the bill aims to limit costs to customers and protect them from predatory practices.
The proposed legislation will authorize the Public Service Commission to align gas utility retaliations with the Climate Act’s emission reductions and climate justice mandates. This would include policies aimed at decreasing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering energy costs.
