Senator Serrano Visits Camp Junior for Volunteer Day
June 13, 2024
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation, Senator Serrano believes that it is vitally important to connect more young people to nature. Engaging in outdoor activities has immeasurable benefits for both physical and mental health. On June 13th, Senator Serrano joined the Fresh Air Fund at Camp Junior in Harriman State park where he, along with other volunteers, helped to prepare and beautify the camp for the arrival of this summer’s campers. Camp Junior ensures that youth from the Bronx have the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature every summer, and enjoy the many benefits that time outdoors provides.
