Senator Helming Supports American Jobs

As your State Senator, one of my top priorities is supporting job creation and economic development. Our children should have the opportunity to pursue a good job and rewarding career right here in the Finger Lakes and Upstate New York. As the daughter of a steelworker, I understand that home-grown jobs, like those in manufacturing, farming and small business, are important to the future of our communities and the success of families.

That is why I believe items purchased with taxpayer dollars should be made in America. Your tax dollars should be used to purchase products that directly support our economy!

Senator Helming supports American jobs, American products and our local economy and sponsors this important legislation:

S2547 - Enacts New York first-shop local program supporting small businesses with online and social media marketing and valuable business assistance to encourage customers to buy local

S8853 - Provides a tax credit to producers of medical equipment and personal protective equipment that manufacture these products in New York State

S3055 - Requires goods sold at State park retail shops, State-run recreational facilities, and State historic sites to be produced or manufactured in the United States

S3203 - Enacts the American Made Flag Act requiring any American flag purchased by State government to be made in the USA
