Senator Rachel May hosted the New York State of Cider, a fantastic Albany event inviting NY cideries for a fun night of tasting hard cider. It was an excellent opportunity for her colleagues to learn and discuss policies to help our cideries flourish.
New York is Apple Country; we're known for our exceptional ciders. Unlike other cider states and other types of beverages, our cideries cannot ship products directly to consumers. Senator May's bill (S1999) lifts that restriction, allowing them to expand their reach to new markets. That's a win for apple growers, cideries, and consumers.
Senator James Skoufis and Assembly Member Patricia Fahy cohosted the event with Senator May.
