WHITE PLAINS – Senator Shelley B. Mayer (D, Westchester) is partnering with Feeding Westchester to sponsor a food donation drive in honor of Hunger Action Month, which will continue through Monday, September 30th with five drop-off locations throughout Westchester County.

Mayer partnered with local Fire Departments and local governments who have agreed to receive donations at their Fire Stations or town halls. The items requested include brown or white rice, whole-grain pasta, shelf-stable milk, canned meat, canned fish, canned vegetables, peanut butter, whole-grain cereal, canned or dried fruit, and canned meals. Please donate non-perishable items only that are not in glass containers, are pre-opened, or are out of date.

“I am pleased to partner with Feeding Westchester again for a food drive in honor of Hunger Action Month,” Mayer said. “Feeding Westchester does remarkable work helping to ensure our neighbors are nourished and have access to nutritious foods and resources to build a better, healthy life for themselves and their families. We are so lucky to live in a community where we look out for our neighbors, so if you are able, please consider donating what you can. Thank you to the White Plains Fire Department, the Yonkers Fire Department, the New Rochelle Fire Department, the Mamaroneck Fire Department, and the Town of Pound Ridge for offering your space!”
