If you are receiving a state or federal income tax refund this year, you can check the status of your refund over the Internet.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) both allow individuals to track the status of their tax refunds online through their respective websites. The IRS also allows individuals who are entitled to the federal government’s “stimulus payment” to track the status of their payment online.
