Access to State and Local Government

New York government is comprised of over 100 state agencies, boards and commissions that implement a broad range of programs and services-- programs and services that impact and can benefit our lives in many ways. So I’ve always believed that my No. 1 responsibility is to provide as much information and facilitate as much access as I possibly can to what’s available.

I try to meet this responsibility in a variety of ways, but one of the real strengths of today’s technology is that it can bring valuable and vital information to you at the click of a mouse. Need to replace a driver’s license, or find out more about how your child can get his or her learner’s permit? It’s online. Questions about property tax relief, veterans’ services, the Do Not Call registry, or New York’s Sex Offender Registry? Again, the answers are all online.

From the state Office for the Aging to the Worker’s Compensation Board, each of New York State’s agencies, boards and commissions offers a Web site. These sites are truly a gateway to New York State government.
