Senator Marcellinio Announces Hearing On Broadwater Facility
Senator Carl L. Marcellino (R-Syosset) today announced that a public hearing has been scheduled on the Broadwater Energy's Proposed Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas Importation Terminal.
The hearing will be held jointly by the Senate Standing Committee on Environmental Conservation, Chaired by Senator Marcellino, the Senate Standing Committee on Energy Chaired by Senator James W. Wright, the Assembly Standing Committee on Environmental Conservation Chaired by Assemblyman Thomas P. DiNapoli and the Assembly Standing Committee on Energy Chaired by Assemblyman Paul D. Tonko.
Senator Marcellino said the hearing will be held in Albany however an additional hearing may be held on Long Island. The hearing is scheduled for February 15, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Oral testimony is by invitation only, however written testimony can be submitted through Senator Marcellino’s District Offices at 250 Townsend Square, Oyster Bay or 386 New York Avenue, Huntington.
Broadwater Energy has proposed to construct and operate a liquefied natural gas facility in Long Island Sound. This proposal would include the construction of a floating natural gas terminal which would be connected to the existing Iroquois natural gas pipeline.
