Merrick Little League Goes To Albany

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th District) recently welcomed the New York State Champion Merrick Little League 9-10 year old team to Albany as his guests. The Merrick team won the state title in August after defeating Staten Island in the finals.

The team spent an eventful day in Albany. After touring the State Capitol Building, they enjoyed a visit with both Governor George Pataki and Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno. In addition, the team was recognized during a session of the New York State Senate with the reading of resolution in their honor, which was sponsored by Senator Fuschillo.

Manager Jason Shulman, assistant coaches Robert Ras and Mike Serota and the players and family members all made the trip to Albany. The team consisted of Alex Ras, Noah Shulman, Lou Eiler, Zach Goldstein, Chad Fuschillo, Brandon Serota, Thomas Viverito, Robert Rosen, Frankie Leavey, John Eyerman and Jordon Leopold.
