Merrick Scouts Visit Senator Fuschillo

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) was recently joined in his office by scouts from Merrick Troop 225. The scouts, who were chaperoned by Kathy and Glenn Harrington to the meeting, visited Senator Fuschillo in order to earn their "Citizenship in the Community" badge.

Senator Fuschillo explained to the scouts about how state government works and what his duties are as a State Senator. Afterwards, the scouts had the opportunity to ask Senator Fuschillo questions and offer ideas about new laws.

"This was a great opportunity to teach these scouts about how government works and how it affects all of our lives. They were a great audience and they asked some great questions," said Senator Fuschillo. "Speaking to the leaders of tomorrow is a great part of my job and I hope that they learned a great deal."
