Senator Fuschillo And Assemblyman Mcdonough Speak To Verizon Pioneers Club

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently attended a meeting of the Verizon Pioneers South Bay Life Member Club in Bellmore to listen to what is on the minds of the group.

The two elected officials discussed ongoing state issues and fielded questions from members of the club about local government services and state programs that they can utilize.

According to their website, the Verizon Pioneers is part of the Telecom Pioneers, which is the largest industry-related volunteer organization and is a network of current and former telecom industry employees and their families who volunteer to address community needs. The Verizon Pioneers is comprised of 130,000 members in 17 chapters throughout the United States whose primary focus is education and volunteerism.

"The most important job an elected official has is to listen to the concerns of his or her constituents. By attending these types of meetings, we are able to inform people about how the government can help them and understand their concerns," stated Senator Fuschillo. "This was a great opportunity for Assemblyman McDonough and I to listen to the members thoughts on the issues as we prepare for the upcoming legislative session."
