Senator Fuschillo And Assemblyman Mcdonough Congratulate New Maritime Cadet From Wantagh

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently congratulated Richard Heithaus, a senior at Wantagh High School, for being selected to receive a Cadet Appointment Scholarship from SUNY Maritime College. Senator Fuschillo nominated Richard to receive the award, which grants recipients a four year full tuition scholarship to SUNY Maritime College.

"During his time at Wantagh High School, Richard has distinguished himself in academics, athletics, and community service. He sets a fine example for all young people to follow, and I have no doubt that he will be a valuable addition to the SUNY Maritime College Cadet program," said Senator Fuschillo. "It is my pleasure to congratulate him on earning this award and wish him the very best as he prepares to begin his college career."

The Cadet Appointment Scholarship was established by Governor Pataki and the State Legislature to help attract qualified individuals interested in the Maritime Regiment of Cadets and the applicable license programs of Maritime College.
