Senator Fuschillo And Eac To Hold Child Safety Seat Check In Freeport
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District), in conjunction with the Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC), will be sponsoring a free child safety seat inspection in Freeport on Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments will be required to participate in the event.
"It’s a proven fact that car seats save lives when used properly, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that almost 80% of children are improperly restrained. When car seats are installed and used correctly they provide the maximum protection for children," said Senator Fuschillo, a member of the Senate’s Transportation Committee. "This event will allow parents to have their child’s car seat inspected by a trained professional to ensure that it is being utilized appropriately. I urge everyone to call EAC to schedule an appointment for this important event."
The free child safety seat check will be held on Saturday, March 19, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Paul Conte Chevrolet, located at 68 E. Sunrise Highway in Freeport. Trained technicians will be on hand to check the condition of car seats and provide advice on how to properly install them. Additional information about car seat safety and child safety will also be available free of charge.
Appointments are required for the event and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. To make an appointment, please call Angela Jimenez of EAC’s Safe Start program at (516) 292-7362. To obtain information about child safety, please CLICK HERE.
