Senator Fuschillo Honors Roosevelt High School Football Team

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently congratulated members of the Roosevelt High School football team for winning the Rutgers Cup, which is presented to Nassau County’s top high school football team. Senator Fuschillo also sponsored a resolution in the New York State Senate, which passed unanimously, in honor of the team’s accomplishments.

Last season, the Roosevelt High School football team went undefeated for the first time in school history, winning the Nassau County Class IV championship and then beating Amityville to claim the Long Island Class IV title. Roosevelt was the only Nassau County football team to win a Long Island championship in 2004.

"These kids worked so hard to attain this incredible achievement, and it just shows how far team work and believing in yourself can take you," said Senator Fuschillo. "This team has brought a great deal of pride to the entire Roosevelt community, and it is my pleasure to recognize their extraordinary achievement."
