Senator Fuschillo Offers Free Safety Brochures For Hurricane Season

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

According to the National Weather Service, June is the beginning of the Atlantic hurricane season. Although the chances of Long Island being hit with a major hurricane are unlikely, Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) is now offering residents a free brochure with information about disaster preparedness to help them be prepared in the event of an emergency.

"Natural disasters, such as hurricanes or flooding, often occur with little or no warning, so the best way to minimize any damage is to be prepared," said Senator Fuschillo. "This brochure outlines a few preventative tips about how to keep your family and your home safe, and I invite anyone who is interested in learning more about natural disaster preparedness to call my office or visit my website and request one of these brochures free of charge."

In addition to providing safety tips, the "Natural Disaster Preparedness" brochure enables families to learn basic preparedness tips, such as placing important papers in an easily accessible location and preparing a family communications plan that can be used in the event of an emergency.
