Senator Fuschillo Presents New York State Medal For Merit To Wantagh Veteran

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently presented Max Graber, a Wantagh resident, with the New York State Medal For Merit. Mr. Graber earned the medal for his service to our country during the Second World War.

"We owe a great deal of admiration and respect to veterans like Max Graber, who fought to defend us from tyranny and protect the freedoms and liberties we cherish. It is my pleasure to recognize Mr. Graber with this award and personally thank him for his brave and dedicated service to our country," said Senator Fuschillo.

The New York State Medal for Merit is awarded to veterans who earned a valor, achievement, commendation or meritorious service decoration or whose service directly supported combat operations.

Mr. Graber served as a radio mechanic in the United States Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant. In addition to the Medal For Merit, Mr. Graber was previously awarded with the American Defense Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European, African and Middle Eastern Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
