Senator Fuschillo Reads To Levy Lakeside Kindergarten Class

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) was recently invited to be a guest reader in Miss Kerin Kaplan’s kindergarten class at Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick.

Senator Fuschillo read House Mouse, Senate Mouse by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the class. The story allowed the children to learn, in a fun way, what Senator Fuschillo does as a New York State Senator.

"As a parent of young children, I know what an important role reading plays in a child’s development. It is important that we encourage kids to develop a joy of reading early on, so that they will continue to do so as they grow up," stated Senator Fuschillo. "I was happy to serve as a guest reader, and I hope that the children enjoyed the experience as much as I did."
