Senator Fuschillo Wins State Funding For Farmingdale Youth Football

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced today that he procured $5,000 for the Farmingdale Titans Youth Football and Cheerleading. The grant will help the league fund its equipment expenses.

"As a parent and a youth league coach, I’ve seen first hand the value of having an outlet for children to socialize with other kids and develop their love for sports and athletic skills," said Senator Fuschillo. "The Farmingdale Titans have worked tirelessly to instill the values of teamwork and sportsmanship in our young athletes, as well as to ensure that all children, regardless of skill level, have a chance to play the games they love. I am pleased to assist them in their mission by providing this state grant."

Formed in 2000, the Farmingdale Titans is a nonprofit youth football and cheerleading organization that strives to create a tradition of fair play, respect, and sportsmanship among its participants. Over 200 children from Farmingdale, the Massapequas, and the surrounding communities participate in the various programs offered by the Farmingdale Titans, which include approximately thirteen football teams and cheerleading squads.

"Youth sports shouldn’t just always be about winning and losing, they should be about letting the kids enjoy themselves. When children are able to play in games, they have fun and their self-esteem grows, which is far more important than the score at the end of the game. Our goal is that every child plays in every game, regardless of their ability. Senator Fuschillo’s grant will help us continue to achieve that objective, and we are extremely grateful for his support," said Farmingdale Titans President Bob Thompson.
