Senator Fuschillo Wins State Grant For East Meadow Baseball/softball Association
The East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association recently received a $5,000 state grant to help upgrade and repair their athletic fields, thanks to the efforts of Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District).
"Kids deserve to have a place where they can go to play ball and have a good time, and the East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association has worked very hard over the years to provide that for the children of the East Meadow community," said Senator Fuschillo. "Once these refurbishment projects are completed, young boys and girls throughout East Meadow will have a state of the art facility to enjoy."
Founded in 1953, the East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association serves approximately 1,500 children from the East Meadow Community. The association has teams for children as young as 5 years old up to the age of 19.
"I would like to thank Senator Fuschillo for his great work in helping our organization. The children playing in the East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association will all benefit from this grant," said Craig Roberts, East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association Commissioner. "The money will go towards improving the playing fields, dugouts, and fences. We all owe him a great deal of gratitude and look forward to working together in the future. On behalf of all the children, a great ‘thank you!’"
