(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) and Assemblywoman Sandra Lee Wirth (R-C, Elma) today announced that they have secured $35,000 to support the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club so as to address certain facility upgrades and ensure that the operational needs of this organization remain viable.

"The East Aurora Boys & Girls Club has been a positive and steadfast resource for our young people for decades," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "That is why, even during times when state financial resources are not easy to secure, I feel that it is well worth the effort so as to ensure that our young people have the resources available to them to become strong and productive citizens of our State." Senator Volker also stated, "Gary Schutrum, Chief Professional Officer of the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club, and his professional staff deserve a great deal of credit in making this organization an exciting and attractive place for our young people to achieve their personal and professional goals."

"The Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora continues to see explosive growth and the demands for their services are at historic highs," said Assemblywoman Sandra Lee Wirth. "Senator Volker and I continue to support the mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs. Their organization promotes and enhances the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. It is a mission that we all should promote is our daily lives and a main reason why I and Senator Volker continue to fight for state funds for the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora."

Gary Schutrum, Chief Professional Officer of the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club said, "Senator Volker has over the years secured financial resources to allow us to grow and enhance our facility, our programs, and our most important asset--our children." These funds will allow us to improve services to our young people and ensure that our facility remains of solid financial footing."

Senator Volker and Assemblywoman Wirth said that in securing this $35,000, it will allow the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club to rehabilitate and renovate its facilities in order to keep existing youth programs fully operational, appropriately equipped and professionally staffed.
