Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $15,000 For Genesee Falls Fire Company
(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $15,000 for the Genesee Falls Fire Company within the adopted 2005-2006 New York State Budget. This funding will assist the Genesee Falls Fire Company with their efforts to purchase a responder brush truck.
"The Genesee Falls Fire Company has been an instrumental force in emergency preparedness and safety in the region, especially as it relates to its close vicinity to the Letchworth State Park," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "The Genesee Falls Fire Company is often called upon to put out fires in the Letchworth State Park or for tourist rescues. That is why the need to have a reliable emergency responder brush truck is necessary and warranted. I am pleased to have secured these state resources to assist the Genesee Falls Fire Company so that they can continue in providing outstanding emergency services to the area."
Donna S. Bartlett, Safety Officer of the Genesee Falls Fire Company said, "The need for a reliable emergency responder brush truck is absolutely necessary for the areas we serve. When it comes to saving lives or curtailing the damage caused by fire, time is of the essence. Senator Volker securing these funds will allow us to expedite our emergency vehicle purchase and improve our response time to further protect those communities that we serve. I appreciate Senator Volker’s continued support of our fire company and the professional men and women who have dedicated their lives to saving others."
"Every minute counts when it comes to the saving of lives in emergency situations, and the Genesee Falls Fire Company has proven to be an invaluable resource to those who depend on their local fire company to be there when they need them the most," said Douglas Berwanger, Chairman of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors. With the acquisition of a new emergency responder brush truck they will have a reliable vehicle to continue saving lives and protecting our community when the need arises."
