No Reason To Wait For Feds; Assembly Must Act To Keep Sex Offenders On Registry Now!

Dean G. Skelos

During the next five years, 5,365 level two and 46 level three sex offenders are scheduled to leave the Sex Offender Registry. In addition, 4,231 level one offenders would be removed from the registry without any judicial review. The Senate intends to pass this legislation and send it to the Assembly during any upcoming special legislative session or, if no special session is convened, on the first day of the new session in January.
