Senator Farley's Military Wall Of Honor To Be Displayed At Fonda Fair

Hugh T. Farley

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R,C - Schenectady) will display his "Wall of Honor" exhibit that salutes the servicemen and women from his 44th Senatorial District at the Fonda Fair from August 30th through September 5th. The display panels will be located on the walls near his booth inside the Grandstand building.

"Since 2003, constituents have been requesting special New York State Senate Certificates of Appreciation to display in an effort to show support for the patriotism and heroism of our military personnel," Senator Farley said. "As the certificates are being produced, I’ve complied a list of their names to show my support and appreciaiton of these individuals and have been displaying these names on poster boards outside my office as a portable Wall of Honor."

"Not only does it show my support of our troops, it is a daily reminder to us all of the sacrifices and efforts of the men and women in our armed forces. In every war this nation has fought, people have taken great pride in recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of family, friends and members of the community," Senator Farley said. "This program continues that unique, truly American tradition."

Senator Farley reminds constituents that America still has troops in Iraq and in various parts of the world helping to protect our freedoms. That is why he is still accepting applications for the Certificate of Appreciation. Residents who know someone currently serving in the military can request a certificate by filling out a simple application form and they will receive a certificate that bears the military person’s name. The resident can display it in an effort to show support for the military.

"People have been coming to my office saying they don’t know anyone in the military, but want to show support," Senator Farley said. "So I’ve been issuing certificates that say ‘God Bless the United States Military’ for them. If you would like a similar certificate, please contact my offices."

Application forms are available at Senator Farley’s District Offices at 2430 Riverfront Center, Amsterdam (843-2188) or 33-41 E. Main Street, Johnstown (762-3733). Senator Farley can also be contacted by e-mail at Farley@Senate.state.ny.us.
