Danby Project Gets State Boost

James L. Seward

A proposed community center in Danby is getting a $25,000 boost from the state for its planning and consulting expenses, State Senator James L. Seward said today. Seward is to announce the award at ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, September 12 at 4 pm at the proposed site of the center in Danby. Seward represents the Town of Danby in the state senate.

"The park association looking to create a center to accommodate community meetings, recreational activities, senior citizen services and youth programs, and I applaud the energy and vision of local officials and the park association," Senator James L. Seward said. "The state grant is helping pay for the planning and consulting that will provide a sound project that the community can support."

The legislative funding is from the 2003-2004 state budget and is administered by the department of state.

Seward is to make the formal announcement, and present a special oversized state check, to the association at the ceremony on Monday, September 12.
