Budget Negotiations Can Be Accessed On Senator Robach's Website

Joseph E. Robach

Senator Joseph Robach today announced that citizens will now be able to access video files from the public leaders’ meetings that have been held at the State Capitol during this legislative session.

Three public leaders’ meetings have been held to negotiate a new state budget prior to the April 1st deadline. The five leaders of State government -- Governor George Pataki, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, Senate Minority Leader David Patterson, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, and Assembly Minority Leader Charles Nesbitt -- all take part in the negotiations.

"Viewing these meetings will help New Yorkers be better informed on the State Budget process," Senator Robach stated. "The meetings are part of our effort to open up the process, and to get a budget done on time. For the first time, the public will be able to see for themselves what positions the leaders of the State government are taking on important issues pertaining to the budget and what is being done to move the process forward to achieve an on-time budget."
