Senator Parker Announces Availability Of Free Legal Advice Through March

State Senator Kevin S. Parker (D- Brooklyn) said New York City residents have the opportunity to receive free advice in all areas of the law through Housing Conservation Coordinators (HCC), an organization that has worked to preserve safe, decent and affordable housing since 1972.

"HCC’s reputation as an advocate for the residents of the Hell’s Kitchen/Clinton neighborhoods of Manhattan are well-earned. But the organization also works to serve all of New York City through these clinics," Senator Parker said.

The HCC Legal Clinic is staffed by volunteer lawyers who can explain the law and individuals’ rights, assist with writing letters and refer residents to other resources. These lawyers, however, cannot represent people in court.

The clinics will held Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
January 24, 31
February 7, 14, 28
March 7, 14, 21, 28

The Housing Conservation Coordinators’ address is 500 West 52nd Street, 4th Floor.

"Obtaining sound legal advice can be a cumbersome, stressful and expensive experience. Fortunately, HCC hasrecruited attorneys dedicated to helping those in need," Senator Parker said.

Consultations are offered on a first come, first served basis. Attendees should bring all relevant documents.
