Golden Salutes Local American Veterans With New York State Medals
Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), a member of the Senate Committee on Veteran, Military Affairs and Homeland Security, recently hosted an awards ceremony in honor of American Veterans.
Senator Golden presented recognition, the New York State Conspicuous Service Cross medal to the following: Frank E. Desiderio, Frank J. Faviano, Edward Skolnick, Alfred Bracciante, and David Bodner. Golden also introduced Ralph A. Mottola who was his nominee to the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame.
Peter Puglisi also received a New York State Conspicuous Service Cross medal and numerous other awards which was made known to him when he went for a hearing aid last year at the Brooklyn Veteran’s Hospital.
Peter was presented with the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 bronze service stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Phillipine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze service star, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII, and the Marksman Badge with Carbine Bar.
Senator Golden stated, "Through each of our challenges, the members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard have protected our country and liberated millions of people around the world from the threats of tyranny and terror. Our proud veterans have helped to shape the American character. They have given us an extraordinary legacy of patriotism and honor, and their service represents the highest form of citizenship."
