Golden Urges Local Residents To Use 58th Street Ferry Service As Means Of Transportation To Manhattan

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District) today is reminding local residents required to get to Manhattan, during the transit strike, of the New York Water Taxi ferry service operating at the Brooklyn Army Terminal located at 58th Street and 1st Avenue in Brooklyn.

Senator Golden, who greeted riders yesterday afternoon and this morning, stated, "In this time of transit crisis which has shut down our trains and buses, the residents of Brooklyn must be aware of the fact that another mode of transportation exists which is fast and safe, that being the New York Water Taxi. This service has been increased to meet the ridership demands during this period of a transit strike and I am encouraging residents to utilize this service in order to maintain their daily schedule and routine."

The New York Water Taxi operates from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Each transit strike day every 40 minutes in both directions between Brooklyn and Manhattan.
