Important Information From Senator Golden

Martin J. Golden

Brooklyn-Senior citizens who have found themselves confused by the new Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D) are urged to contact State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), the Chairman of the Senate Aging Committee, who has made available an informational flyer entitled, "Medicare, EPIC & You: Understanding the New Rx Benefit".

The flyer, which Senator Golden has published, includes facts about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Program, other important information about Medicare & EPIC, an explanation of New York’s Epic Program, and answers to the question "What If I Already Have Drug Coverage?".

The flyers are available at either of Senator Golden’s Brooklyn Offices, located at 7403-5th Avenue or 3610 Quentin Road. Additionally, individuals are offered the pamphlet by calling either of Senator Golden’s offices at (718) 238-6044 or at (718) 627-3659 and requesting that one be mailed to you.

Senator Golden stated, "Helping to make prescription drugs more affordable to New York’s senior citizens will always remain one of my top priorities. While the new Medicare prescription drug benefit is a federal program, the information contained in this brochure can provide answers to some of the questions that you may have. This information will guide you in making the best decision as to what program is right for you."

Senator Marty Golden has hosted two forums which have provided area senior citizens the opportunity to hear presentations regarding the new program and to meet with representatives of Medicare and EPIC on a personal level. Senator Golden will be hosting more seminars on the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit program in the beginning of 2006. For more information on these events, please contact Senator Golden’s office at (718) 238-6044 or (718) 627-3659 or by visiting www.senatorgolden.com.
