New York Junior Tennis League And Senator Golden Offer Free Tennis Program For Children

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden, in conjunction with the New York Junior Tennis League, is announcing that two free tennis programs, for novice and intermediate level players, are available to the youth of the neighborhood between the ages of 6-18, Monday through Friday, from 3-6 p.m. through June 24, 2005.

Senator Golden, who allocated the funding required to host these programs in our community, is encouraging local residents to take advantage of the programs offered at both Lafayette High School, 2630 Benson Avenue, and Public School 229, 1400 Benson Avenue. Registration is necessary and is available on site. Loaner racquets and balls will be provided and lessons will be offered by trained instructors.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "As the enjoyable weather of the Spring is upon us, how better to spend our afternoons then learning the skill of tennis in our local school yards. I encourage our community to participate in these programs that will allow local school children to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills. So sign up and take your best shot. Who knows, maybe a little fun can lead to a passion for the game."
