Senator Dilan Announces Charity Website
State Senator Martin Malave Dilan (D-Brooklyn) announced a website whose mission it is to connect people with the charities and causes they care about, and allow them to donate directly to these organizations. The JUSTGIVE.ORG website enables those who would like to donate to charities to do so in a very simple way.
"More than a million different charities are accessible through this non-profit organization. From providing hunger relief, to assisting displaced animals, to supporting missions to improve the quality of health care -- if there is a charity to be found, it is on this website," Senator Dilan said.
Justgive.org also offers a Wedding Registry. Couples can register for the charity or charities of their choice, and have guests directly donate to disaster relief, including the tsunami recovery effort in South East Asia. Individuals can also create a "wish list," which is another easy tool that makes charitable giving a part of our everyday lives.
"There are hundreds of organizations out there that are working to improve the lives of those less fortunate. However, we don’t always know where to turn when we want to do something to help. This website can be your guiding light to making a difference in the world -- one individual and one donation at a time," Senator Dilan said.
