Senator Nozzolio Announces $150,000 For Lifespan
Rochester – New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R/C- Fayette) today announced that LIFESPAN will be receiving $150,000 in State funding from the Division of Criminal Justice Services. The funding will be used to help LIFESPAN in their efforts to prevent elder abuse and is in addition to state funding of $250,000 previously secured by Senator Nozzolio.
“LIFESPAN provides critically important services and programs that benefit thousands of individuals and their families throughout our region,” said Senator Nozzolio, Chairman of the Senate Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Committee. “I commend Governor Pataki and Director of Criminal Justice Chauncey Parker for providing this funding to help fight elder abuse in our community.”
“Combating Elder Abuse continues to be one of my top priorities, which is why I have fought so hard to secure nearly $2 million in State grants to assist LIFESPAN in their education and prevention efforts. Nothing is more important than ensuring the safety and well-being of our older citizens,” Senator Nozzolio added.
LIFESPAN serves 11 counties in Western New York; including Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Cayuga, Livingston, Schuyler, Yates, Orleans, Genesee, and Wyoming.
“LIFESPAN has played an integral role in helping to improve and enhance the quality of life for our older citizens. As a State Senator, it has been a pleasure for me to support their efforts, and I look forward to LIFESPAN’s continued contributions to our families and communities,” Senator Nozzolio concluded.
