Senator Nozzolio Announces $350,000 For Hillside Children’s Center
Romulus—State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured $350,000 in State funding for the Hillside Children’s Center, an affiliate of the Hillside Family of Agencies, following their acquisition of the former Kidspeace Seneca Woods Campus, and their commitment to retain nearly 350 jobs there. The funding will be used for needed capitol improvements to the facilities and other infrastructure improvements.

I am especially pleased that the Hillside Children’s Center will continue to provide critical services for at-risk children at the Seneca County Campus. They have a demonstrated history of success in administering quality care, and I am confident they will develop a long and successful partnership with the Seneca County community.”
Dennis Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hillside Family of Agencies, commended Senator Nozzolio for his leadership. “Senator Nozzolio’s strong support for children’s services and his commitment to the future development, revitalization and reuse of the former Seneca Army Depot property convinced us to invest in Seneca County.
“The Senator works hard on behalf of his district. He was the driving force in a tremendous collaborative effort to support the acquisition, and he convinced us to employ the quality work force we’d find in Seneca County,” Richardson said.
Senator Nozzolio has been instrumental in securing millions of dollars and in the past five years has helped bring more than 1,200 jobs with an annual payroll of $30 million to the former Seneca Army Depot. Projects have included development of the Seneca Woods Campus, construction of the Five Points Correctional Facility, the attraction and expansion of The Advantage Group, and the creation of the New York State Police and Emergency Services Training Facility.
“Working closely with the Governor’s office and the local Industrial Development Agency, I look forward to a promising future for the former Seneca Army Depot. The Hillside Children’s Center acquisition is another important step toward that future, and I am pleased to have been able to bring this excellent facility to Seneca County,” Nozzolio said.

The Hillside Family of Agencies has served the Rochester, New York community for 166 years as a leading provider of early intervention and customized services for youth and families with a wide range of emotional, behavioral or life circumstance challenges. Hillside provides services in areas such as mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, and special education in more than 40 locations throughout Central and Western New York.
