Senator Saland Announces Local Winners Of Environmental Contest
Senator Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie) announced that students from W.W. Smith Humanities Magnet School, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Sargent Elementary School and The Devereux Foundation traveled to Albany today to attend the "I*MA*GREEN*NATION" Celebration and to receive awards for projects submitted to the contest.This event encourages students to share knowledge, understanding and ideas about important environmental challenges faced by their communities.
The winners were as follows:
W.W. Smith Humanities Magnet School
First Place, Class Project, Division 1, Grades 1-3, Audio/Video, classes of Mrs. Haines, Ms. Freda
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
First Place, Divison II, Grades 4-5, Arts & Crafts, Liam Maserjian from Linda Haenichen’s Class
Sargent Elementary School
Second Place, Class Project, Division IV, Special Education, Arts & Crafts, classes of Mrs. Sandison, Mrs. Clayton, Mrs. Pezzo
The Devereux Foundation
Third Place, Group Project, Division IV, Special Education, Arts & Crafts, classes of Charlotte Mennona and James Morse
