Senator Saland Announces New York State Archives Grants For Dutchess And Columbia Counties

Senator Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie) today announced that New York State Archives Grants have been awarded to local governments and community organizations in Dutchess and Columbia Counties.

These grants are offered by the New York State Archives to support the management of records. Grants may be used to improve records management or to preserve historical documents. Those grants awarded to community organizations are called Documentary Heritage Program Grants and those awarded to local governments are called Local Government Records grants.

"This is very good news for our local governments and community organizations," said Senator Saland. "The New York State Archive Grants will do much to preserve important historical documents and help manage documents presently in use."

The New York State Archives is awarding approximately $9.65 million in grants to hundreds of local governments and community organizations across New York State.
