Senator Saland To Co-chair Education Conference Committee On The Budget

Senator Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie), Chair, Senate Education Committee, today announced that he has been selected to Co-Chair the Education Conference Committee on the budget. He will Co-Chair this committee with Assemblyman Steve Sanders, Chair, Assembly Education Committee. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday March 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.

"I am very pleased to be participating in the budget conference committee process as Co-Chair of the Education Conference Committee," said Senator Saland. "It is very welcome news that we have reached this point in the process much earlier than in years past. The education portion of the budget is always the main focus of budget deliberations. I hope that our discussions with the Assembly prove productive in the days to come and result in a timely budget."
