Senator Morahan And The American Red Cross Launch Awareness Campaign To Ensure That Nys Businesses Are In Compliance With Resuscitation Regulations

Senator Thomas Morahan and The American Red Cross in Greater New York (ARC/GNY)will join in a campaign to inform local businesses of the need to comply with new state regulations requiring resuscitation equipment in all patron-accessible areas.

The Senator is supporting a campaign to alert representatives of the business communityabout officialstate regulationsmandating resuscitation equipment in all patron-accessible areas.

Appropriate equipment at a businessCPR station, based onthe new law, wouldinclude resuscitation face shields, gloves, sanitary wipes, a disposable bag, clearly marked instructions and basic CPR instructions in English and Spanish. Equipment should be organized, easy to display and mount.

"It is very important that local businesses obtain CPR resuscitation equipment on their premises that are capable of reviving patrons in distress. I urge Rockland businesses to comply with the new state regulations, andimplement this invaluable program as soon as possible ," said the Senator.

Under NYCRR Title 10, Part 801, Availability of Resuscitation Equipment in Certain Public Places, all New York State businesses that have patron-accessible areas are required to have specific resuscitation equipment readily available. Businesses affected by this regulation include, but are not limited to bars, service counters, host/hostess stations, registration desks and concession stands, health clubs, theaters, concert halls, auditoriums, martial arts studios, health spas and studios, gymnasiums and all manner of restaurants.This equipment will help patron-accessible businesses to be compliant with Part 801 regulations quickly and affordably.
