Senator Morahan Particpates In Round Table Meeting To Encourage Renewed Growth In The Hudson Valley's Grape And Wine Industry
Senator Thomas P. Morahan (R-C, New City)recentlyjoined the Chairman of the New York State Senate Task Force for Hudson Valley Fruit Growers, at a Round Table discussionat the Town of Marlborough Town Hall in Milton, New York, to discuss ways of renewing growth for the Hudson Valley’s grape and wine industry.
A recent report by the Task Force, "Tending the Vineyards: Renewed Growth for the Hudson Valley’s Grape and Wine Industry," outlines a program to help increase the quality and quantity of wines being produced in the Hudson Valley. It outlines how, in a cooperative manner, growers, winemakers, marketing professionals, local municipal and state officials can help to encourage growth in this area of agriculture.
The Round Table meetingreceivedinput from growers, winemakers, and other interested parties on the recently released report.
"We need to listen to those who are engaged in the business of growing grapes & other fruits to see what can be done assist Hudson Valley fruit growers," said Senator Morahan.
